The Research On Deng Xiaoping's Spatial Economic Thoughts

The purpose of this paper is to conduct a systematic study of Deng Xiaoping's spatial economic thoughts,arguing that his spatial economic thoughts are not only an organic component of his theory,but also an important train of thought running throughout his theory,reflecting his global vision on spatial economy and the height of his theory as well.The paper makes a systematic analysis of the background on which Deng Xiaoping's thoughts on spatial economy were born,expounds the essence of his spatial economic thoughts,and discusses the theoretical as well as practical value of his thoughts in order to find theoretical reference value to deal with the spatial problems in the current economic development.The research contents include three parts.Part One is a systematic analysis of the conditions on which Deng Xiaoping's spatial economic thoughts were formed,putting into perspective of the domestic and international economic and political situations as well as the theoretical resources that have influenced Deng Xiaoping,such as spatial economic thoughts of Marx,Engels,Mao Zedong,and Lenin's new economic policy.Part Two is a systematic combing of the main content of Deng Xiaoping's spatial economic thoughts,summarizing the framework of his thoughts into three aspects – “thoughts on the reform of the spatial economy,” “strategic thoughts on spatial economic associations,” and “thoughts on spatial economic construction and development.” Part Three is an exposition of the significance of Deng Xiaoping's spatial economic thoughts from the theoretical and practical aspects.Theoretically,Deng Xiaoping's spatial economic thoughts laid a good foundation on which Xi Jinping developed his spatial development strategies that not only bears characteristics of Deng Xiaoping's theory,but also develops Marxist spatial economic thoughts.Practically,Deng Xiaoping's spatial economic thoughts have provided theoretical enlightenment for China's urban development,impetus for fast economic development,and direction for integrated utilization of natural and societal resources.This thesis mainly uses literature research method and comparative analysis method to conduct the research work.Through literature research data are collected,which provides a theoretical support for this paper,while through comparative analysis of different persons' views on spatial economy,Deng Xiaoping's unique contribution is laid out.The innovation of this paper includes three main points: One is the argument of the important position of Deng Xiaoping's spatial economic thoughts in his whole theory,arguing that spatial economic development is of pivotal importance in Deng Xiaoping's theory of Chinese characteristic socialist modernization.Two is the combing of Deng Xiaoping's sayings and views on spatial economy so as to highlight the ideological system of his thoughts from three aspects--the reform of the spatial economic structure,strategic spatial economic associations,spatial economic construction and development.Three is to find out the significance and influence of Deng Xiaoping's spatial economic thoughts,demonstrating that Beijing–Tianjin-Hebei collaborative development strategy and “The Belt and Road" strategy are inheritance of Deng Xiaoping spatial economic thoughts.
