| Agriculture is the foundation of our national economy.Issues concerning agriculture、rural and farmers has been the focus of attention of the central government.In recent years,with the continuous reduction of natural resources and the deterioration of the ecological environment,the agricultural development is becoming increasingly grim.In order to ensure the stable growth of agricultural economy,the fundamental way is to improve the total factor productivity(TFP)and realize agricultural modernization.As an important guarantee of modern agriculture,the role of agricultural infrastructure investment in total factor productivity can not be ignored.Hubei province is a major agricultural province,but also one of the major grain producing areas in China.Its agricultural development is related to the country’s agricultural economy and food security.The research on the impact of agricultural infrastructure investment on the TFP is of great significance to the agricultural economic growth in Hubei Province.On the basis of the relevant literature,the current situation of the agricultural infrastructure investment was analyzed from the aspects of infrastructure investment scale and structure in Hubei Province firstly in this paper.Then,Using the DEA-Malmquist productivity index method to calculate the TFP of agriculture,the results showed that in the period of 1994-2015,the progress of agricultural technology in Hubei promoted the improvement of TFP.Secondly,based on the time series data,the influence of agricultural infrastructure on the TFP was analyzed in this paper by using the long-term equilibrium model and error correction model,and the results showed that irrigation investment,rural electricity investment and rural road investment had significant positive influence on the agricultural TFP in Hubei Province.Then,Then,using panel data and fixed effect model,the effect of agricultural infrastructure investment on total factor productivity was analyzed deeply.The results showed that irrigation was the main investment way by acting on the overall technical efficiency,rural roads and rural power investment were to influence agricultural TFP through the double way of technological progress and technical efficiency.Finally,according to the research conclusion,Hubei province should further increase investment in the farmland irrigation,rural roads and rural infrastructure,strengthen the daily management and maintenance of agricultural infrastructure and promote the long-term operation of agricultural infrastructure. |
