In order to meet the current demand of market of multi-species and small batch,cell production and reconfigurable manufacturing systems are widely used.Its rapid response to the changes in the market,changing the poor flexibility and the low production efficiency of the original layout.Improvement of facility layout based on unit production and reconfigurable manufacturing system is conducive for enterprises to save material handling costs,improve site utilization and production efficiency,shorten the production cycle,thereby reducing the total cost of production,speed up the cash flow rate then enhance the competitiveness of enterprises.A rationale layout of the facility is a key factor which directly affects the economic efficiency of the enterprise,so what kind of layout is used and how to design the layout are very practical issues.In this paper,after the contradistinction and analysis about the rigid manufacturing system,the flexible manufacturing system and the reconfigurable manufacturing system,the characteristics,advantages and disadvantages of the three manufacturing systems are summarized.The reconfigurable manufacturing system is selected for further study.On the basis of compared the cell production with mass production,and combine the factors which need to be considered in facility layout issues,a problem of facility layout optimization combining unit production and reconfigurable manufacturing system is proposed in this paper.The object of this optimization problem is U-shaped cell production line.For the layout of U-shaped production line facilities,the optimization objectives and constraints of the cell production line facility layout model are analyzed,and an optimization model with the aim of minimizing the cost of material handling,cell reconstruction cost and downtime is established.The various constraints of the model are taken into account.What’s more,the hybrid ant colony optimization algorithm which the ant colony optimization algorithm(ACO)improved by the simulated annealing algorithm is proposed to solve the model.The detailed solution steps and algorithm design are given,which can effectively avoid the local optimization of the algorithm,after that,MATLAB is used to finish the algorithm.At last,the empirical analysis is carried out to apply the model to the layout of a plant production line.With the current layout and the product demand and product process of the next cycle order,the existing layout design will be optimized.In this paper,the new layout scheme obtained by using the above model and algorithm is compared with the optimized scheme,it is found that the model and algorithm are effective to solve the problem of reconfigurable facility layout Considering whether to re-planning the layout from the perspective of cost-benefit analysis,which not only provides a quantitative standard,but also forms a more systematic approach to solve such problems and solutions when enterprises meet such problems again.
