The Investigation And Research On Science Popularization In Panjin's Communities

It has been 10 years since the implementation in Outline of the Action Plan for the Nation's Science Literacy, cognition of scientific workers and researchers to the community residents the focus groups are also gradually in-depth. Science popularization in communities can be embodied in the initial “Action of Scientific Literacy for Workers from Cities and Towns”, in the latter “Scientific Literacy of Community Residents”, and then to start the implementation of “Benefits from Community's Popularization of Science”, those actions indicates that strengthening science popularization in communities is not only the necessity to improve community citizens' scientific literacy, but also the strategic significance and practical significance to accelerate overall development of China's well-off society.By the mentioned above, understanding the basic situation of science popularization in communities, and the follow-up investigation of community residents' demand and satisfaction for science popularization can be known as the fundamental research work to achieve citizens' benefits from science popularization. Therefore, in this paper, through investigation and analysis on current situation and characteristics of science popularization in communities of Panjin, factors that influence science popularization in communities are explored, so as to offer scientific basis for Party Committee, the Government and the Association for Science and Technology to conduct further work.In the present paper, literature review, questionnaire survey, field interview, case analysis and statistical analysis are adopted, 228 communities and 2500 respondents are selected for investigation by means of general investigation and random selection. The result comprehensively reflected the actual situation of science popularization work in Panjin, and its achievements and deficiencies, which mainly contains its unsound organizational network, its under-investment, lack of relevant personnel in grass roots, stereotype of scientific work, unbalanced facilities construction for science popularization and its insufficient service ability, etc.To sum up, taking the opportunity of this investigation, the Association of Science and Technology as well as I, will make directional decisions and projects for the science popularization work, establish and perfect the working pattern that suits relevant scientific work in Panjin, for the science popularization work in communities, its leadership and coordination should be enhanced, its funds investment should be enlarged, its carrier construction should be innovated, science popularization experience program should be supported, science popularization team construction should be emphasized, social resources should be integrated effectively, in order to strive for building a major socialized working structure for science popularization, improve working level of community's science popularization work and citizens' scientific literacy, so as to make great contribution to improving citizens' happiness index, building a new Panjin and creating a civilized city nationwide.
