Recovery of end-of-life vehicle has great environmental, economic and social benefits.With the development of economy and the increasing of people's living standards, China has become the world's second largest country of vehicle ownership. In the next few years,China will usher in rush hour of end-of-life vehicles scraping. However, actually the scrap and cancellation rate is very low in our country,which means there are quite a lot vehicles that are not being recovered through legal channels.The recovery and remanufacturing of end-of-life vehicle product is the extension of the automobile industry. The recovery rate of end-of-life vehicle in China is very low, and it can't satisfy the development need of end-of-life vehicle remanufacturing industry. The problems in the end-of-life vehicle recovering are urgent to be studied, and the selection of recovery modes comes first.Firstly, this thesis studies the basic theory of the uncertainty in a closed-loop supply chain and introduced the conception of end-of-life vehicle within the closed-loop supply chain. The category and the possible consequences of the uncertainty are introduced too.Moreover, the four common recovery modes of end-of-life vehicle are described. Based on that, this thesis analysis the status of domestic and foreign end-of-life vehicle recovery and points out the existing problems of end-of-life vehicle recovery industry in China.Secondly, decision-making models based on the indiscrimination and discrimination pricing of new product and renew product of end-of-life vehicle in the closed-loop supply chain are built and solved. At the same time, contrastive analysis among manufacturer recovery mode, retailer recovery mode and third party recovery mode is carried out. The result of recovery mode selection is calculated by a numerical example. Result shows that: to achieve profit maximization, manufacturer will always choose manufacturer recovery mode to carry out the recovery of end-of-life vehicle in both indiscrimination pricing model and discrimination pricing model.Finally, the parameter variation is also analyzed in this thesis to find out whether the parameter will influence the result of recovery mode selection.
