A Telecom Operators Demand Forecasting Model

As the telecom industry began restructuring,China Telecom market competition increasingly fierce,the approach by expanding the customer base to increase the size of the income is gradually out of the market,telecom operators high profits in the market began to lose support.In this environment,the domestic telecom operators have begun to consider to enhance its competitiveness in the market by reducing production costs as its future development direction.And because the purchase cost accounted for a considerable share of the total cost,it can affect the profitability of enterprises in large part.Reduce procurement costs and improve procurement efficiency has gradually become an important means of telecom operators to enhance their competitiveness in the market,and to achieve competitive advantage in the fierce competition in the market.In this context,enhance the level of procurement management has gradually become the competitive focus of telecom operators.Procurement process generally consists of the following components:purchasing department procurement plans according to the procurement requirements presented by the demand department,purchasing department launched public bidding and selected partner suppliers,reached a purchase agreement with the supplier and purchase the necessary products.From the view of the entire procurement process,the procurement requirements and the shopping list based on the procurement requirements is the foundation of the entire procurement activities can be carried out smoothly.It can be seen that improve the accuracy of demand forecast and the communication efficiency between the purchasing department and the demand department can enhance procurement efficiency and reduce procurement costs largely.In this case,telecom operators can only strengthen their demand program management and strengthen forecasting of demand,but due to many uncertainties exist in the market,absolutely ideal demand forecasting is impossible.In this case,a good demand forecasting model can increase demand forecast accuracy largely,and improve their requirements planning management level effectively,and enhance its market competitiveness.The paper is in this context,analyzed the current situation of requirements planning management of a domestic telecom operators,and draws on the results of BOM in the manufacturing sector,studies how to design a demand forecasting model suitable for mobile communications construction projects.Research results are as follows:(1)Designed a demand forecasting model suitable for telecom operators,and analyzed its accuracy through the telecommunications operator's purchase history;(2)Improved procurement requirements gathering process of the telecom operator to coordinate the use of the demand forecasting model.
