With the rapid development of economy,china has become the largest power consumer,how to coordinate the relationship between power consumption and economic growth has become a huge challenge to our country.therefore,An accurate grasp of the relationship between electricity consumption and economic growth,the sustainable development of the economy and the development of electric energy policy will have a great help.First introduced the power consumption and economic growth in recent years in our country;and then introduces the situation of economic growth in recent years in China;And then introduced the theory of panel unit root test,panel cointegration test theory,variable coefficient panel data model theory,Hausman test set and model test,to the back of the empirical analysis provides a theoretical basis.This paper is based on panel data,the panel unit root test and the panel cointegration test are conducted for the data of power consumption and economic growth in C hina's provinces and autonomous regions from 1995 to 2013.the results show that the electricity consumption and economic growth are the first-order single whole sequence process,power consumption and economic growth(GDP)there is a cointegration relationship between;The quantile model doesn't reflect well the influence degree of the electric power consumption for economic growth,In order to solve this problem,this paper analyzes the relationship between electric power consumption and economic growth in C hina by using the variable coefficient panel data regression model and.The results show that the power consumption in China is in the middle,and the power consumption in the central region has the greatest influence on the economic growth.In the eastern region,the western region has the least influence.from the economic development level,the degree of influence of developed areas and less developed regions are also different,the developed regions of dependence on electricity consumption is still large,This may be related to the regional economic structure or the rational use of solar energy and other clean energy;The results of the quantile regression are only the causal relationship between power consumption and economic growth at different quantiles,but variable coefficient panel model not only can get the relationship between different regional electricity consumption and economic growth,at the same time can get the size of the different parts of the influence degree.Therefore We can increase the rational use of electricity in various regions,for our country to build energy saving society provides powerful basis.
