The most important part for improving the competitiveness of Equipment Manufacturing Industry is the promotion of the research and development ability,the keys to which are the quality and the efficiency of new product development.It is the same case with the construction machinery enterprises,where improving the quality and efficiency of new product development is the key to the core competitiveness of enterprises.This paper introduces 6? Management,the present application of its research and development,its history and solutions to some problems.By summarizing the related concepts and theories,this paper also gives detailed discussion on DMAIC and DMADV,their functions,selection methods and common tools.With analysis on the present research and development of the new paver in the construction machinery enterprise,this paper summarizes characteristics of new product's research and development in Company DL and locates existing questions.Based on DMADV,which Company DL chooses as its 6? R&D model,this project focuses on the R&D of the new screed of paver.Customers' demands of the screed is analyzed before the setting of measurement index and goal.During the definition stage,the designers evaluate the risk of this project,calculate expected benefits,and build a team.With QFD,they also make a list of the customers' demands,determine the detailed parameter of system,and furthermore,get the design requirement of parts for the products.Performance Evaluation Scorecard is used to evaluate the competence of the system,and the system risk is also estimated with the help of FMEA to optimize the contents for the measurement stage.With the technical parameters obtained in the measurement stage and TRIZ theory,the concept of the product is designed and the scheme is determined.With CAE,the analysis software,and other tools,the project is optimized,modular and error proofing design are taken into account,and the analysis stage is concluded.In the design phase of the project,based on the conceptual scheme of the analysis stage and with Tolerance Design,QFD and PFEMA,the parameters of parts are designed,the key procedures are analyzed,and control plan is set.At last,designers launch the trial manufacturing,implement the control plan,transfer achievement file,and complete the design process.At the end of this paper,the effects of this project are analyzed,the economic benefits are evaluated,and summary for this project is accomplished.Through summarizing the successful experience and insufficiency in the process of R&D of the paver with 6? Management,this paper concludes the effective method and procedure of this kind of project and provides reference for the wider application of DMADV model in Company DL.
