Research On The Influences On China’s Independent Innovation Capacity From OFDI’s Reverse Technology Spillovers

With the arrival of knowledge economy age and the increasingly fierce international competition,more and more people begin to pay attention to the improvement of independent innovation capacity of our country which is able to strengthen the core competitiveness between countries and companies.At present,China is in the determining stage and vital period of strategic opportunities of building “Innovation-oriented country”.Therefore,it is extremely urgent to promote the independent innovation capacity.Many scholars both at home and abroad think that OFDI can improve the independent innovation capacity as a channel to obtain foreign advanced technology.On the basis of this respect,this paper tries to research OFDI’s reverse technology spillovers and the relationship between them.With the rapid growth of China’s OFDI scale,this paper is attempting to review OFDI’s reverse technology spillover theory and analyze the mechanisms of OFDI’s reverse spillovers’ impact on domestic independent innovation capacity.On the basis of the conditions of OFDI’s reverse technology spillovers and independent innovation analysis,this paper tries to use document analysis and theory-empirical analysis method,and use Cobb-Douglas production function.By using the data of 10 countries from 1990 to 2014,this paper builds econometric model to analyze the effect.What’s more,according to the conclusion of the research:(1)There are three channels to improve national innovation level which are import trade,IFDI and OFDI.Comparing with these channels,the effect of OFDI is the smallest.(2)The reverse technological spillover of OFDI can produce positive effect on Chinese enterprise’s innovative ability indeed.Authorized patents will add more 0.028412% because of the 1% add of OFDI.Therefore,our government and companies need to stretch the foreign investment scale positively.For example,the government should pay more attention to policy support to companies’ OFDI,give more subsidy to national high-tech industries,and defend foreign right of companies.Companies should make the best of existing policy to improve their competence ability,and step up efforts to invest R&D in order to promote their independent innovation ability.
