The Study Of The Regional Differences Of Consumption Level In Shanxi Province

Consumption is one of the most basic economic activity in people's social life.It not only reflects the level of regional economic development,but also can promote the space of the optimization and upgrading of industry structure to realize the coordination development of regional economy.Consumption level is an important index of measuring a regional consumption ability.At the same time it is also reflect the degree of the realization of regional economic activity and the satisfaction of people material and cultural needs.For China today,the speed of domestic economic is slow.Expanding domestic demand and promote consumption become one of the most measures to promote economic.Shanxi Province is one of the economically underdeveloped provinces,attention and encourage consumption is an indispensable part of measures to promoting economic development.The paper based on related consumer economy theory and total retail sales of consumer goods of 11 cities and 96county-level cities in Shanxi,to concrete analysis current differences of consumption level,and puts forward suggestion for the improvement of consumption level in Shanxi province.The issue has guiding value for the balanced development of the consumption level in Shanxi province.The paper uses a single index and combined with the EXCEL?SPSS and ARCGIS software.First,measuring characteristics regional level of consumption and evolvement rules by different statistical method from 2005 to 2014,and visualize the results.Then analyzing the influence factors of regional consumption level according the actual situation.Finally,putting forward the proposal for improving the overall level of consumption and narrowing the regional difference in Shanxi.The results indicate:(1)Regional consumption level difference is obvious in Shanxi.City consumption level is in low stage over the past ten years in Shanxi.It presents the characteristic of “onlyone city is high,the rest of cities are low”.But relative difference of city consumption level is decreasing in Shanxi,which indicates that the consumption level gap between the cities is slowly shrunken.In space,consumption level of most of the cities is lower than the average.Consumption level has obvious polarization,which presents the core-edge structure and has obvious regional agglomeration phenomenon.The consumption level of northern area in shanxi is higher than southern area.The consumption level of eastern area is higher than western area.(2)For consumption level of county-level city,county-level city consumption level is in low stage and general differences have relatively weak trend.Consumption level difference of county-level city is the main source of total consumption level difference,which focus in Jinzhong economic belt,Linfen?Yuncheng economic belt and Lvliang economic belt.The pattern of county-level city consumption level is small change.High consumption level of county-level city distributes along basin and expresses the descended distribution trend from the center.Moderate consumption level of county-level city connect the development axis which likes Chinese characters“gong”in Shanxi Province of center and southern.The geographic concentration degree is not very obvious.(3)The main factors that influencing the regional level of consumption are GDP?Per capita disposable income?tertiary industry?transportation?policy?consumption idea and the social security system.(4)This paper gives out five points of suggestion according to the analysis and results: firstly,it should promote upgrading of the industrial structure and facilitate the development of regional economy to stimulate the consumption growth;secondly,it should exert the radiating and driving effect of high consumption level area to improve the level of consumption of surrounding area;thirdly,it should increase its efforts to support industry and attract investment to expand consumer channels;fourthly,it should improve the social security system and increase the income of residents to encourage consumption;finally,it should improve the consumption environment and change the concept of consumption.
