Research On The Evolution Of Innovation Networks From The Angle Of Social Capital

Innovation network is a cooperative organization coalition which contains several organizations such as businesses, governments, agencies and research institutes. It was emerged as an innovation cooperation form due to the rapid development of today's knowledge economy.As an important part of the national innovation system, innovation network drives the speed of knowledge innovation and shorten the time for innovations' market-showing. The main parts of innovation network are all significant organizations related to social and economic activities.The innovation activities from their cooperation are inseparable the impact of social capital which is embedded in social network. Therefore, it has important significance to combine the social capital and innovation network for analysis.Firstly, this paper provides an overview of the logical path of innovation activities'networking trend. Then it makes an analysis of the related content, node and characteristics of innovation network. On the basis of the former theoretical research, this paper analyzes the evolutionary path of China's high-tech industries' regional innovation network. It summarized the formation power of the high-tech industries' innovation network in China divided into external infrastructure resources, internal competition effects and social capital. External resources include pre-base basis,geographic information, resource endowments. Internal economic competition effects include government competition effect, market competition effect, knowledge economy effect. The evolution of innovation network expresses by three dimensions: structure, size, function. Then it analyzes the meaning, dimension division of social capital, including their impact on innovation network. Then this paper focuses on social capital's three-dimensional impact of the innovation network linking mechanism. In the meantime, it builds dynamic evaluation system for the evolution of innovation network. The evaluation system contains three aspects: network density, network-centric and cohesive subgroups. Then take the Northeast biomedical industry for example, this paper conducted a simulation case study of regional innovation network's evolution. After outlining the topology of its innovation network, this paper analyzed the related social network metrics and its evolution. Eventually,combined with China's current situation, this paper proposed policy recommendations to promote the evolution of innovation networks and enhance the innovation ability of enterprises.
