Walt Disney Corporation is one of the world's largest multinational corporations with cross-cultural management playing a great role in its operation. In recent years, more and more scholars have research about Disneyland but with little study in terms of the cross-cultural management, especially to Disneyland in Shanghai, which will be opened to public in 2016 as the sixth Disneyland throughout the world. How to have a clear understanding of culture disparity? How to deal with the cultural conflict? It is worth studying.I'm very interested in this field and hope some meaningful strategies can be concluded related to multinational corporations, especially Shanghai Disneyland in terms of cross-cultural management. At first, this dissertation makes a basic introduction about the related definitions and theories, including the definition of culture, the background of cross-cultural management and Hofstede's cultural dimensions.Secondly, the thesis illustrates the development and operating situation of all the Disneylands throughout the world.Thirdly, the author makes a detailed research and analysis of the overseas Disneylands, including Disneyland in France,Japan,Hong kong in terms of cross-cultural management based on the related theory. Then summarize the experiences and lessons of the management process in the course of overseas operations.By means of case study and from the cross-cultural management perspective, the author gets some enlightenment, proposing some potential cultural conflicts and providing some feasible cross-cultural management countermeasures and suggestions to the upcoming Shanghai Disneyland in order to make the corporation run efficiently.
