Case Study On Ambidexterity And Competitive Advantage

Under the New Normal,innovation has become an important choice for enterprises to change their development mode and improve their competitiveness.In recent years,ambidexterity has become a hot research topic,but previous studies focused on the relationship between ambidexterity and firm performance,the moderating factors and the mediating factors between them.On the basis of combing the research,scholars have explicitly conceptualized "Ambidexterity" as a construct comprised of two dimensions,the balance dimension of ambidexterity(BD)and the combined dimension of ambidexterity(CD).The balance dimension of ambidexterity(BD)emphasizes the balance between exploitation and exploration,to avoid risks stemming from the overcommitment to one.In this way,firms can maintain the existing competences and develop new products and markets at the same time.The combined dimension of ambidexterity(CD)refers to that exploration and exploitation can take place that do not necessarily compete for the same resources,they can be supportive of one another to enhance firm performance.With the literature review,we find that the influence factors of ambidexterity and transformation mechanism between ambidexterity and competitive advantage are unclear.Using the case study method,this paper chooses JINGHUA Co Ltd.and FULIN Co Ltd.as study objects to study the influence factors of ambidexterity and transformation mechanism between ambidexterity and competitive advantage.Through the comparison and analysis of the objects of study,we find that:(1)the choice of BD or CD is influenced by resource base,entrepreneurship and market environment;(2)it is necessary for enterprises to have the ability of resource integration,organizational learning and organizational change in order to realize the competitive advantage.The research significances of this research:(1)on the basis of distinguishing BD and CD,we study the influence factors of ambidexterity and transformation mechanism between ambidexterity and competitive advantage.It has certain theoretical significance to explore the influencing factors,the influencing mechanism and the evolution path of competitive advantage:(2)in this paper,the study are discussed and compared in the form of case study.It is of great practical significance to correctly understand the concept of ambidexterity,to guide the choice of BD or CD and to realize the evolution of competitive advantage.
