A Study On The Impact Of Tourism On Economic In Southwest China

With the recent major increases in national income,tourism is getting extremely popular.Therefore,from the national level to the provincial level are concerned about the tourism industry.In order to take targeted measures to help people lift themselves out of poverty,governments regard tourism as a primary means of stimulating economic growth.Thus,to figure out the connection between tourism development and regional economic operation as well as to what extent the development of tourism can promote local economic increase becomes an important academic issue.Since the reform and opening,especially after the “the Belt and Road” strategy,the western region is focused on support by the state.Southwest region surrounded by Hubei,Guangxi,Shaanxi,Qinghai,Gansu,Hunan and Tibet provinces is adjacent to the middle south on the east where the economic develop rapidly and,on the south,next to the prosperous tourism market in the Southeast Asian.It has wealth resources of tourism and convenient transportation system.As one of the leading industries in the tertiary industry,tourism has promoted the development of related industries in the region,expansion of employment.Meanwhile,it made a role in promoting industrial structural upgrade and increasing economic income.However,comparing with the rest region in west,the tourismof southwest region still needs to be improved,which is a vital bottleneck restricting local economic growth.First of all,this article,based on reading a large number of relevant literature both at home and abroad,analyze the situation of tourism in the whole southwest region and other provinces using qualitative approach.Because of the rich tourism resources endowment and a good external environment,the southwest region has the conditions to vigorously develop the tourism industry.Secondly,by preliminarilyanalyzingthe influence of the tourism industry on the regional economy in southwest China though the fixed effect model and Eviews8.0,the results show that the tourism in southwest China has a positive effect on the economic growth of the whole region.After analyzing the impact of tourism on different industries and themechanism of those impact,it is concluded that the tourism industry mainly promotes the development of the tertiary industry through the industrial association effect and the employment effect.Thirdly,this article does study on the impact of the tourism industry on the regional economy in the southwestern provinces separately in order to make a better comparative analysis of the gap between the provinces and cities on the regional economic growth.Finally,This paper puts forward some countermeasures to promote the development of tourism industry in Chongqing by taking good advantage of resource,infrastructure and government orientation,which based on the combination of the constraints of the development of tourism in Chongqing and the empirical results.
