Job market in China shows clear ownership characteristics.Over the years,Chinese is currently in the market economy era after continuously economic transition.China gradually established an ownership system that public sector remaining dominant and diverse sectors of the economy developing side by side.Various sectors in different ownerships is flourishing in the market and employ workers according to their demond.There is significant differences in different ownership forms,like market share,employcmont amount,corporate environment and culture.The workers also have different characteristics like age,gender,education,location,etc.Those facotrs can affect their idea of job hunting choice and their preferences in ownership sectors are varied from person to person.Theoretical analysis and empirical analysis are used to explain the behavior of the individual choices in ownership sectors.The theoretical analysis includes personality-job fit theory,human capital theory,Labor mobility and labor market discrimination theory.In addition,institutional and cultural factors are also important in affecting the choice of ownership.China Health and Nutrition Survey(CHNS2011)database is used as a research sample in empirical analysis.Statistical description and a multiple discrete model-Multinominal Logit Model is used to building the ownership choice model in order to quantify the influence level of different personal and external factors.Result shows:gender,individual age,education,residence and regional economic status contribute significant impacts on workers’ ownership choice,but marital status and family size shows less influence.Different ownership sectors have different access rules.When choosing the ownership sectors,workers puesue the maximum utility according to their own characteristics and preferences.Individual characteristics and external environment released a combined effects on ownership choices.Deepening the reform of ownership structure,establishing a correct concept of ownership choice,improving human capital investment and narrowing down the regional economic gaps will optimize the allocation of human resources,redusing the huge employment pressure in China. |
