With the further deepening of economic globalization, the production of international division of labor has changed from product to product between the division of labor division,in the global value chain mode, different production phases of a product can occur in different countries. As the communications of China with other economies in the world is getting closer,Chinese plays an increasingly important role in the international division of labor and has become an integral part of the global value chain, thus measuring the degree of embedding in the global value chain has a certain practical significance. How does China's embedding in the global value chain affect the total factor productivity and how to achieve the improvement of production efficiency, which is worthy of further study.China's manufacturing industry is the cornerstone of China's economic development, the study of China's manufacturing industry in the global value chain and the influence of degree of embedding on total factor productivity is of great significance.Based on the upstream index of industry, the paper constructs the global value chain embedding degree index, and according to the 2003-2012 world input-output table to calculate it.The paper uses the classical Solow residual method to calculate 16 manufacturing industries in China and adopts the fixed effect model to construct the empirical model, analyzing the influence of the global value chain embedded index on the total factor productivity, considering the different industries have different factor intensity, the group regression is used in the paper. It is concluded the embedding degree of global global value chain of manufacturing industry has a positive effect on total factor productivity, the promotion of labor-intensive industries and capital-intensive industries is obvious, and the promotion of technology-intensive industries is not obvious.According to the results of theoretical analysis and empirical analysis, this paper puts forward the recommendations of formulating policy.
