Quality/Cost Control Of Garment Production Workshop

In the era of today's overcapacity and low-profit apparel industry,small and medium-sized garment manufacturers are facing many challenges,including more competitors,less bulk,low profits,and higher personalized requirements.Under such fierce competition in the market,each garment enterprise should consider how to change the extensive management mode,establish a scientific and perfect management system of production process,in order to maintain and develop the company.A new generation of entrepreneurs should select those management theories which are more scientific and efficient to improve product quality and cost control.Therefore,they could enhance their core competitiveness.In recent years,theories of lean production and quality-cost have been widely used in garment enterprises,which also have achieved remarkable results.Lean production and quality-cost have become the key competitiveness of enterprises'efficiency improvement.This paper investigates the application of lean production and quality-cost on the problems of quality cost in small and medium-sized garment factories.The study selects some small and mediurm-sized(garment)enterprises in southwest of China as representatives.It collects and analyzes case-related data of those manufactories based on their true situations and theories of lean production and quality-cost.This paper finds planning for quality-cost control system for clothing production workshop and methods of continuous improvement.The purpose of this investigation is to facilitate small and medium-sized garment enterprises to solve the problems of quality and cost by providing possible solutions based on case study.The paper is divided into six chapters:Chapter one is introduction.This part mainly includes the study background and statement of previous studies.It summarizes lean production and quality-cost according to existing domestic and foreign literatures.The first part also introduces the research contents and meaning of this paper,as well as study methods and technical routes.Chapter two explains theories of lean production and quality-cost control in detail.This section demonstrates the contents and characteristics of lean production and quality-cost.The improvement methods of garment lean production and the accounting and optimization of quality-cost control are involved in this chapter as well.Furthermore,the chapter also aims to discover the relationship between quality cost and production cost.Chapter three is the introduction of the G company,the case-studying company.Readers can find the company's general situation,current operation and production targets.By analyzing G company's present situation and problems of lean production and quality cost control in production workshop,this paper intends to get the initiation to improve quality and reduce cost.Chapter four explores the process of lean production and quality-cost control in the production workshop in G company.In the fourth part of this paper,the researcher evaluates optimization of lean production process management,quality-cost control in production workshop.At the end,the united approaches of lean production and quality-cost control found are displayed.Chapter five is about the system of quality-cost control.The system of quality-cost control is designed through the establishment of cost database,technical resource pool/library and building of a culture of quality management atmosphere.Meanwhile,the system of quality-cost control of small and medium-sized garment enterprises is structured.In addition,this division discusses the continuous improvement of the system.Conclusion of this whole paper.It reviews key findings,conclusion and the methods of the study.References for future studies are also included.
