Research On OFDI Reverse Technology Spillover、Innovation Capability Improvement And Its Threshold Effect

In this paper,we use the patent authorization to measure the regional innovation ability,and use the inter-provincial panel data from 2003 to 2014 to verify the effect of OFDI reverse technology spillover on the improvement of innovation ability in China.The empirical results show that the OFDI reverse technology spillover Which has a significant positive impact on the promotion of innovation ability in China,but for the time being,its promotion to innovation ability is much weaker than the international R&D spillovers obtained through FDI channel and IM channel.On the basis of the overall empirical analysis,the patent authorization is further subdivided into the invention patent,the utility model patent and the design patent.Through empirical research,we found that:OFDI reverse technology spillover on China’s innovation capacity mainly concentrated on low-level utility model patent and design patent,the promotion on high-level invention of the patent did not through the significant test,the high level innovation capacity mainly depends on domestic R&D investment to promote.Considering the imbalance of regional economic development in China,the author further divided the 29 provinces and municipalities into the eastern,central and western regions according to the regional classification method of the national statistical offices of China.The empirical results show that OFDI reverse technology spillover Which has a significant positive impact on three regions,three regional innovation capacity all can benefit from the OFDI activities.In addition,the outflow effect of the OFDI reverse technology spillover has a significant regional difference.In the last part of this paper,the Hansen(1999)threshold regression model will be used to test the effect of human capital,the degree of opening to the outside world,degree of financial development and economic development on the OFDI reverse technology spillover effect.The empirical results show that there are two thresholds for the four economic factors,among which the human capital,the degree of opening to the outside world and the degree of financial development make the outflow effect of OFDI reverse technology show the trend of rising first and then decreasing,while the degree of economic development mainly plays a supporting role.
