As an important material,copper supports to world’s advanced technology and national defense construction and also is related to the lifeline of national economy and national security.The application of copper in China have a relatively long history,but the development of copper industry leg behind the other countries and there is still a big gap.Currently,with world’s economy overall depressed and downward pressure of China’s economy increased,the global mining industry facing a big dilemma as well as industry circle adjustment,we have to attach importance to the copper industry.On the basis of the enterprise market competition strategy theory research results and advanced experience at home and abroad,the paper analyzes the market competition environment of Jiangxi Copper Corporation with PEST analysis and the five-force model,meanwhile,it reveals the advantages and disadvantages,opportunities and challenges of Jiangxi Copper Corporation by using SWOT analysis.And then it makes the position of market competition strategy for Jiangxi Copper Corporation clearly,and in order to Comprehensively promote the implementation of the strategy by using “transformation and upgrading strategic” “ Innovation-driven strategy” “costcontrol strategy” etc.This paper studies the main conclusions as follows:(1)With international and domestic entity economic growth slowdown in demand for non-ferrous metals,basic raw material industry overcapacity,the superposition of multiple adverse factors such as the dollar continued to be strong,the non-ferrous metal industry downturn across the board and the price bluffly drop.(2)Jiangxi Copper Corporation is under the circumstance of global economy with the economical continued slow growth,trade continues to weaken,financial market turmoil,structure adjustment and domestic economy with structure adjustment and transformation upgrading,restrained by imbalance between supply and demand and backward compared with the foreign technology.In addition,the international mining companies and powerful domestic state mining company after merger,acquisition and reorganization,are both threat to the leader position of Jiangxi Copper Corporation.Moreover,Jiangxi Copper Corporation has support from a national policy and science and technology funding.(3)Jiangxi Copper Corporation has its own advantage in self-sufficiency rate of raw materials in the first place,the main production of larger scale,advanced technology and equipment,wide financing channel,high credibility brand,complete industrial chain,all-round supporting enterprises,solid basic management and has its own disadvantage in insufficient reserves,unreasonable industrial layout,lack of management innovation,not high personnel quality,lack of research and development,unsound the internal risk control system.(4)Jiangxi Copper Corporation should adhere to the concept "thinking in the future today" and aim at the goal of world top 3,adhere to the direction "strengthening smelting,fine processing,related multivariate",promote the stakeholders win-win cooperation.Meanwhile,in order to Comprehensively promote the implementation of the strategy by using“transformation and upgrading strategic” “ Innovation-driven strategy” “cost-control strategy” “go-out strategy” etc.
