The concept of motivation inside the working environment has become the centre of attention for many researchers the last decades.The reason behind this increased interest is mainly because the word is changing day by day,therefore,human needs change as well.In this fast-growing world the need for the researchers to bring new knowledge around this field has aroused.Thus,because of the importance of this topic there is a big amount of theories and models which attempt to explain the concept of motivation.Motivation and performance of the employees are essential tools for a successful organization.Most managers are focused on keeping their employee's motivated and willing to work.Even though,a small portion of them do not understand what actually motivate a person is.Firms have as obligation to identify their employee's needs in order to succeed in the workplace.In this article,I will focus on the concept of the motivation and I will examine the theories of it.Also,I will focus on the two types of motivation namely,financial and non-financial and on the way that managers can motivate their employees using both methods during difficult economic conditions.It is highly important to examine both types of motivation,thus I will focus on the ways that managers can motivate their employees using financial approaches as well as non-financial.During difficult economic conditions,the factor money is not the only one factor that is able to motivate employees to achieve their best.Moreover an analysis of the case study from HCL company will be provided in order to clearly identify how managers kept the employees motivated during the financial crisis of 2008.Purpose-The purpose of this paper is to identify the most important factors that motivate employees in their workplace during a difficult economic situation.Also focuses on identifying and examining the connection between organizational effectiveness and employee's motivation.
