A Research On The Spatial-Temporal Pattern And Driving Factors Of Taiwanese Direct Investment In The Yangtze River Economic Belt

With the relaxation of political relations between mainland China and Taiwan,the economic and trade exchanges of two sides have become more frequent.Taiwanese Direct Investment has obtained rapid development in recent 20 years in the mainland as the most important form of exchanges.Obviously,the spatial distribution of Taiwanese Direct Investment in mainland China is different.In the beginning,it gathered in the Pearl River Delta and Fujian province,then gradually shifted to the Yangtze River Delta,and finally turned to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the central and western regions of China.Thus,the Taiwanese Direct Investment in mainland China has formed an all-round development spatial distribution,from the south to the north,from the coastal region to the inland region.Overall,the Yangtze River Economic Zone which covers the Yangtze River Delta,the Urban Agglomeration in the Middle Reaches of the Yangtze River,the Sichuan and Chongqing region has became an important gathering area for Taiwan businessmen.In 2014,the Yangtze River Economic Zone rose to a national strategy,which was responsible for the development of the open economy system.As an important part of China's open economy system,the study of the Taiwan region of Direct Investment in the Yangtze River Economic Zone has an important practical significance.Based on this,the structure of the research is as follows:The first chapter mainly elaborates the background and research meaning,content frame and innovation points.The second chapter introduces the relevant research theory and research status.Chapter 3,Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 are the empirical research of this paper.The third chapter analyzes the development of Taiwan Direct Investment in mainland China directly.The fourth chapter analyzes the spatial distribution of Taiwanese Direct Investment in the Yangtze River economic zone,from the perspectives of investment amount,the industrial structure and the number of Taiwanese companies.The fifth chapter is the main influencing factors of the direct investment of Taiwan business in the Yangtze River economic development from 1992 to 2014.Finally,in Chapter 6,we draw the conclusion and put forward the corresponding strategy suggestion.The main conclusions are as follows:First,the Taiwanese Direct Investment in the mainland China shows a "T" type of spatial pattern,mainly concentrated in the coastal economic belt and the Yangtze River economic belt.What's more,there were five core areas of investment which were the Pearl River Delta,the Yangtze River Delta,Fujian province,the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region,Sichuan and Chongqing.The second is,the lower reaches of the Yangtze River Economic Zone was the core areas which attracted investment of Taiwan,and it experienced a whole process from start to recession;the middle reaches of the region showed a slow increasing tendency;the upper reaches of the region showed a slow growth at the beginning and then the turned into a rapid growth.Third,the electrical and electronic manufacturing industry,finance and insurance industry,electrical equipment manufacturing industry,wholesale and retail trade industry and chemical materials manufacturing industry were the five major industries of the Taiwan business investment in the Yangtze River Economic Zone.And the electronic and electrical manufacturing industry had shown the location choice to the Yangtze River Delta region,then spread to the upper reaches of the Yangtze River,while the wholesale and retail investment from Taiwan had shown a gradual "balanced" state.The fourth conclusion is,the increasing number of investment enterprises of Taiwan in the Yangtze River Economy Zone showed a"inverted U-shaped" development form,which meant the number of enterprises are increasing first then turned to decline.And the ranking of the regional average figure is:the middle reaches>the upper reaches>the lower reaches of the region.Fifth,in different stages,there were different leading factors which play an important role in Taiwan Direct Investment in the Yangtze River Economic Zone.And the long period can be divided into the facility element-orientation stage,human factor-orientation stage and agglomeration element-orientation stage.
