Low income of rural population in Pakistan has been a serious problem since the inception of country.There has been dire need to find ways and means to improve socioeconomic conditions of rural people.Pakistan's economy depends on Agriculture sector which is the major source of earning for the people living there.Small growers face challenges like low income,low savings and low capital formation.Microcredit loan is a ray of hope to improve their income.Microcredit has worked wonders in many parts of the world and sufficient literature is available to regard microcredit a blessing.However,the effects,extent and range of effects of microcredit may vary from setting to setting.With the aim of addressing this variation,the current study aims to produce results which will add clarity to body of knowledge.The proposed study aims to investigate the effects of microcredit on the income increase of the rural population in Pakistan.In this regard,the study aspires to test the hypothesis on the small case study of microcredit,sponsored by Khushhali Bank a privately owned recently setup bank in Pakistan in Badin District,Sindh province,Pakistan.This study uses specific survey data out of the large chunk collected between December 2016 and February 2017 funded by Khushhali Bank.Using survey research method,90 respondents living in nine villages have been administered a simple questionnaire asking for their responses whether microcredit,financed by Khushhali Bank,caused increase in their income.The author has been one of the field data collectors for the project and was responsible for data collection from the nine villages.Necessary permission regarding the use of data has already been obtained.
