Studies have found that in a complete warehousing activity,picking process is one of the most time consuming step.Picking time accounted for 35%of the entire warehouse activity time,and picking cost about 50%to 60%of the cost of the entire cargo storage.Therefore,improving the efficiency of order picking is the key to lower costs and improve the efficiency of distribution center.To improve the efficiency of picking,we can consider the inbound process,optimizing the storage assignment.This paper considers a single tote turnover or single pallet's duration of stay in the warehouse as a basis for the storage assignment.So as to improve the operation efficiency of the whole logistics distribution center and reduce logistics operation cost.As to the warehouse storage assignment optimization problem,the present studies are mostly based on the turnover frequency to determine the storage assignment strategy.This paper considers a single tote turnover or single pallet's duration of stay in the warehouse as a basis for the storage assignment.And then,based on the basic thoughts of the greedy algorithm to develop a storage assignment strategy based on greedy algorithm.And considering the warehouse in the real operating environment,the market demand is not stable,the demand of goods will change at different times,so we could not have known all the pallet's arrival quantity,demand and stay time in the warehouse.So we introduced the model GM(1,1)based on fading memory discrete grey,through a variety of demand of the history of the arrival of the goods quantity and to predict the actual demand of the goods,thus gain inbound load units stay time information in the warehouse.And this broke the limitations of traditional ABC partition,and makes storage assignment more flexible.Taking the order of the tobacco distribution center as an example,and through the MATLAB simulation software to verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.According to this way to enhance the response speed of customer orders,improve service level of logistics enterprise,and finally improve the market competitiveness of enterprises.To shorten the response time of customer orders,in this paper,we can set aside an area where is closer from the I/O door,named as the emergency storage area.In this area,by analyzing the history of the delivery of goods in the warehouse,to store all the goods in accordance with the corresponding proportion.When customer order contain such goods,if the customer request response time is enough,then the corresponding position pick-up from the warehouse.If time is close to the latest check-in time,and when the goods have not completed the selection,we can pick up goods from the emergency area directly to complete the order of rapid response and meet customer demand.Finally according to the idea to establish the mathematical model and regard the order response time as the objective function.And then give the storage assignment based on genetic algorithm which can meet the quick response of customer order.Finally,through MATLAB simulation software,compared with traditional allocation method to verify the effectiveness of this method.
