Since more than three decades of reform and opening-up,C hina's economy has witnessed an explosive development,and both the development of retail industry and the spatial distribution system have made great progress,which greatly satisfied the people's increasing material and cultural needs.However the road to the development of the retail industry and the construction of spatial distribution system is endless and winding,due to historical reasons,the construction of C hina's urban planning and retail layout planning started relatively late,and the theoretical researches and methods are relatively scarce,which brought difficulties to development of urban retail spatial distribution.Hence,thorough research and practice is needed in terms of theory,method,policy,funds,and so on,especially on the aspect of scientificalness,forward-looking and operability.First chapter introduced the research background,discussed the significance,and summarized the relative literature both at home and abroad.Besides,relative concept of the retail formats is defined;The second chapter summarized related basic theory about the construction of the retail spatial distribution system,including retail format change theory,consumer behavior theory,theory of commercial enterprise concentration,commercial location theory and business circle theory,which lay a theoretical foundation for the rest of the papers;The third chapter states the general situation of research,reviews the history of Beijing's retail spatial distribution development,illustrates the multi-level-distribution structure of retail spatial distribution in Beijing,and analyzes its current development characteristics in detail;The fourth chapter is about the empirical research,which is the core of this papers.A macroeconomic model is constructed to assess the ratio nality of the retail spatial distribution,by analyzing the retail development standard and citizen's purchasing power.Besides,this chapter builds up an indicator system,gets the comprehensive evaluation score by the method of factor analysis,and make s the histogram in the macroeconomic models;C hapter five puts forward some policy suggestions according to the problems in the development of retail spatial distribution in Beijing,such as to promote rational distribution,to speed up the development of urban economy,to strengthen infrastructure construction.
