The Research Of Singlon Hau And The National Commercial Bank(1921—1938)

Singlon Hau was a famous banker and insurance broker,who once taught in the department of Economic at Peking University and served as treasury secretary,Special Committee member of the Paris peace conference compensation committee of the Chinese delegation,general manager of the National Commercial Bank and Taishan Insurance Company and the Chinese president of Shanghai Municipal Council and so forth.He had participated in discussing the National Government's major economic issues and making decisions for many times.In the 18 years of National Commercial bank,Singlon Hau improved the business,institution and management,on the base of financial expertise and managing bank experience.Singlon Hau's steady and flexible management policy,concept of industry association,attention to the peoples livelihood and so on,not only promoted the institutional construct,the spread of bank theories and the process of banks' modernization in China,but also reflected the banks' features of the times,which lacked the functions of central bank and had unstable environments.
