The Empirical Study Of Suburban Farmers’ Demand For Agricultural Technology

Nowadays Chinese agricultural development are facing increasingly severe resource constraint problem,it must only rely on the support of agricultural science and technology in order to successfully promote agricultural modernization forward.As a special type of agricultural area,suburban agricultural main purpose to provide vegetables,food to meet the needs of the city,it has been one of the most developed agricultural regions.Compared with the general agriculture,suburban agriculture require higher agricultural modernization and more agricultural service supporting system requirements.Urbanization makes the declining of land and labor resource.It is critical to ensure the sustainable development of suburban agriculture to make up for the ecological balance of the city and meet the supply of fresh food in urban areas.Development of suburban agriculture must rely on the policy and agricultural technology.Only combing the current status of suburban agriculture regional technical service system,understanding suburban farmers agricultural technology service needs,we can make the government to make corresponding adjustments for agricultural technology farmers needed.The technology demand of suburban farmers is studied.With th survey of suburbs household micro data in Pukou,Liuhe,Gaochun,Lishui and Jiangning,the study made a thorough analysis of the technical service system status and factors affecting suburban farmers’ demand for technology,based on agricultural technology induction theory,agricultural pedal theory,and some previous research literature.These include:introduction of a survey program in this study as well as data acquisition methods,and samples were simple descriptive statistical analysis;In the analysis of technical service system in suburban agricultural areas,the study first described the suburban farmers’ awareness of agricultural technology the status of technology demand,the way farmers access to technology,the kind of technology demand,then it conduct a thorough investigation on technical services organization,including the situation of farmers contacting technical service organization and the demand for technical organization,also a simple analysis of technical training in suburban agricultural areas.Then,the paper do an empirical analysis of factors affecting land-saving and labor-saving technologies of suburban farmers,which specifically includes:description of two types of technology needs and its impact factors,logit analysis of land-saving technology and labor-saving technology demand.Finally,the study draws some conclusions:the suburban farmers have a strong technology needs.They tend to some basic land-saving and labor-saving technology.While there is a obstacle between the existing technical services organizations and the farmers.The existent technical services organizations cannot effectively meet the farmers’ needs.Agricultural technology promotion center of government departments and rural technology supermarket did not play its due role in the service promotion.The demand for land-saving technology and labor-saving technology have some differences.The technical training and the number of family farming has a significant positive effect on the demand for land-saving technology and labor-saving technology.Age and native factor has a significant negative impact on the demand for land-saving technology and labor-saving technology.In addition,the concurrently industry degree has a positive impact on the demand for labor-saving technology.The farmers with different varieties of agricultural production have a significant differences on technology service demand.Based on those,this paper gives the relevant policy suggestions.
