Research On The Impact Specific Factors Of China's Position Changes In Asia-Pacific Value Chains

As the world economic barycenter move to the east gradually, structure of global value chains are undergoing continuous adjustment, as an important player in global value chains China should seize the opportunity, actively strive for the position in global value chains.As a result of economies in the Asia-Pacific region are quite different in development stage, economic policy and factor endowments which make value chains in this region more complete.This laid a good foundation for the research.Although China has plays a key role of cohesion in value chains, but still hold a lower position, therefore,research on changes in history,current situation and influence factors of APVC_position in each industries can provide the basis for industrial upgrading.Using data in the OECD database, WIOD database, China statistical yearbook,China statistical yearbook of science and technology, draw lessons from the calculation method of GVC_position calculate China's 25 industries' APVC_position in 2000/2005/2008/2009/2008/2009.Firstly use lateral comparison analysis to study the value chain position of the selected industry.Then put the APVC_position as explained variable,and reverse investment, research and development investment, scale economy level, labor remuneration as explanatory variables.And get the following conclusion:Overall,the APVC_position of China is the most low-end in the value chain.According to industry perspective, service industry is the highest industry in the position of value chain,next is the labor-intensive manufacturing.Capital and technology intensive manufacturing is in middle position,and the lowest is the primary industry.Regression results show that,in the change process of APVC_position of 25 industries,SCA is the best role(0.399),next is R&D(0.303),LAB(0.287),FDI*OFDI(0.215) .But the level of explanation become quiet different when put these explanatory variables into different kinds of industries.
