Research On The Efficiency And Influencing Factors Of Delivery Industry In Yangtze River Economic Belt Based On DEA-Malmquist Method

In September 2016,the Yangtze River Economic Zone development Plan was issued,and in March 2017,The Development ofDelivery Service in Yangtze River Delta In The 13th Five-year Plan was issued,too.which further established the pivotal position of the delivery industry in the process of China’s economic development.In addition,the railway network,the highway network,the aviation network play an important role in the innovation of the operation mode of delivery industry and the construction of a comprehensive three-dimensional transport corridor.Today,the courier industry developed rapidly,the enterprises number increased quickly,the scale is expanding,but how the benefits it brings to the economic development of the Yangtze River economic belt?Is this kind of economic benefits and delivery industry investment ratio reasonable?Delivery industry input-output efficiency can measure whether the development of delivery idustry is healthy,so the study on delivery industry efficiency of the Yangtze River economic belt and various provinces in China help to identify problems and seek solutions,be of great advantage on the development of the Yangtze River economic belt,and has the practical significance and the theoretical significance.First,this paper hackles,induces and summarizes the domestic and foreign literature,finds the latest research developments and deficiencies,then analyses the efficiency of delivery industry comprehensively,elaborates the mechanism of mutual promotion between delivery industry and industrial development,regional economic development;next,this paper expounds the reason of the selection of DEA and Malmquist methods,then analyzes the current development status of the courier industry in the Yangtze River economic belt in horizontal and vertical aspects;Then based on the research results of predecessors,this selects several evaluation indexes that are suitable for the current status of the delivery industry of the Yangtze River economic belt,uses the princpal component analysis to optimize the data according to the characteristics of the data,and applies the DEA and Malmquist methods to conduct a comprehensive evaluation on the delivery industry’s efficiency of the whole country and the Yangtze River economic belt,a multiway comparative analysis is made between the eastern,the middle and the western of our country,the upstream,midstream,downstream of the Yangtze River economic belt;Then eight explanatory variables are selected to explore the factors that impact the delivery industry’s techni’cal efficiency using the method of fixed effect regression model;Finally it comes to the conclusion that the delivery industry’s technical efficiency level in Yangtze River Economic Belt is better than the national level but less than the eastern region,and there is serious imbalance in the upstream,midstream,downstream of the Yangtze River Economic Belt;in the whole,there exists serious input redundancy and insufficient output in Yangtze River Economic Belt.In addition,the regression analysis found that the number of Internet users and the amount of car ownership is the most important factor affecting the efficiency of the delivery industry of the Yangtze River Economic Belt Finally,combined with the actual situation of the Yangtze River economic belt,put forward the corresponding policy recommendations.
