After decades of development, green food industry in China has reached a certain scale, and has experienced a relatively substantial growth in production and the number of certified companies and products.Besides, its certification system and product structure have been gradually improved and optimized. However, green food industry in China shows significantly regional differences. How big are the regional differences for chinese green food industry?and how did they form? This research will benefit industrial planning and the policy-making of industrial development.but few literature is dedicated to the in-dept research on this issue. In order to provide a theoretical and empirical reference for the planning of the green food industry and the development of industrial policy, this paper refers to such theories as regional economic development, industrial agglomeration and consumer theory, and some domestic and foreign literature focused on green food and its industry research. Methods are adopted to do the research, including combination of normative and empirical analysis, qualitative and quantitative analysis. Therefore, detailed research on regional differences of green food and its cause is conducted on the basis of the content of green food and its industry,so as to provide theoretical references for green food industry planning and policy-making.In this paper, indexes are adopted to measure regional differences for green food industry from provincial level and the high, medium and low level areas, including Gini,Theil and Logarithmic mean deviation.Factors of regional differences in green food industry are analyzed, and the panel data in 30 provinces from 2010 to 2014 are employed to empirically test the affecting factors from provincial level and the high, medium and low level areas. The results showed that increasing household income level, strengthening Industrial agglomeration, labor force, land and capital are conducive to the development of green food industry, but their impacts on industry development in various areas are different. The difference of household income level,Industrial Agglomeration, labor force, land and capital in various region are main causes of regional differences in the development of green food industry.Based on determining equations of industrial development, the Shapley value decomposition method is adopted to decompose the causes of the regional differences in the development of green food industry. The decomposition results show that regional differences of industrial agglomeration contribute the most to green food industry development, followed by income level, labor force, land and capital in various region. Finally, the article also empirically analyzes the convergence of regional differences in the development of green food industry. The empirical results show that the development of green food industry presents the characteristics of beta conditional convergence. On the basis of the conclusions, some countermeasures and suggestions are put forward to promote the coordinated development of green food industry.
