In recent years,iron and steel industry has been a kind of low-margin business from the pillar industry gradually.Most of the iron and steel enterprises even appeared different degrees of loss.The steel enterprises are seeking a breakthrough point.They strengthen management for efficiency,strive to reduce costs and increase profits.With the increase of the customers' demand on skin-pass coil,the problem that the actual production of the skin-pass line in hot strip mill in QG company is low becomes increasingly prominent.It causes the loss of orders and customers,the bad impact of the company's brand.And it brings great loss to the company.Also it affects the long-term development of the company.Six Sigma management method was born in the America Motorola,grew up in GE.Through development and growth of nearly 30 years,it has become a relatively mature management method and means,accepted by people around the world and from all walks of life and applied to practice.In our country,research and application of Six Sigma management method started later than overseas,but the development of faster,be just unfolding.In 2007,QG company held the kickoff meeting of Six Sigma and it has successfully carried out multiple Six Sigma projects and achieved good economic and social benefits.Much of the projects are to improve product quality or to increase the qualified rate.However,it is still a blank that the project is carried out to optimize the production process of a whole production line.This paper takes the Six Sigma management method as the theoretical basis,takes the implementation of Six Sigma Management in QG company as the actual support and takes the first skin-pass line in hot strip mill in QG company as the research object.It starts from the current production situation of the first skin-pass line and analyzes the problems and causes.It proposes the whole idea and the implementation plans that how to use Six Sigma DMAIC mode to optimize the production process of the first skin-pass line.Through the research,it can provide ideas for optimizing the production process of the first skin-pass line in hot strip mill in QG company so as to improve the production,meet customer requirements,improve the economic efficiency and the competitiveness of the enterprise.And also this paper is to broaden the choosen scope of the Six Sigma projects in QG company and to help the company better carry out the Six Sigma management.At the same time,it is also hoped to provide certain reference to solve the similar problem in other production lines in QG company and even other domestic iron and steel corporations.
