The improvement of technological innovation capacity is the core issue of China's overall development.In this background,the Industry-University Cooperation,through which can share the R&D cost,disperse the innovation risk and promote the ability of resource sharing and complementary between business partners,have a great significance to improve the ability of enterprises' technological innovation in our country.With the trend of economic globalization,opening and collaborative in the 21st century,enterprises should build a new and opening pattern of Industry-University cooperation.The existing research shows that Industry-University Cooperation provides learning opportunities for the enterprises,so the enterprise can absorb and integrate knowledge from university and research institution by conducting ambidextrous organizational learning in the process of Industry-University Cooperation.Therefore,this article studies the effects mechanism of the openness of Industry-University Cooperation to the ability of enterprise technology innovation ability based on the perspective of ambidextrous learning.This study make clear the concept of the opennessIndustry-University cooperation and the measuring method based on the research about openness-and analyzing the characteristic of thedepth of Industry-University cooperation.With the the analysis of the related literature of Industry-University cooperation,ambidextrous organizational learning and technology innovation ability,we discuss the relationship among the breadth and depth of openness of Industry-University cooperation,the ambidextrous organizational learning(exploratory learning and exploitative learning)and the technology innovation ability,then we construct the effect model of the openness of Industry-University cooperation which can influence technology innovation ability through the intermediary effect of ambidextrous organizational learning.The study use the SEM method to test the 209 valid questionnaire data recovered from enterprises,then we have the following main conclusions:(1)The openness including breadth and depth of Industry-University cooperation have a positive impact on the technology innovation ability of enterprise;(2)The depth of openness of Industry-University cooperation has not positive influence on exploratory learning significantly;(3)Ambidextrous organizational learning including exploratory learning and exploitative learning)play a role of intermediary between the openness including breadth and depth of Industry-University cooperation and the technology innovation ability of enterprise.The main research conclusion has a certain practical implications for national enterprises which carry out the Industry-University cooperation:Firstly,promoting enterprises to conduct Industry-University cooperation actively and enhancing the openness of Industry-University cooperation,expanding the widely connection of enterprise with universities and scientific research institutions.Secondly,enterprises should continue to conduct ambidextrous organizational learning activities,and pay more attention to the exploration of new knowledge and the deepening of knowledge mining.Finally,enterprises should take effective incentive measures of reasonable arrangement of resources to ensure the effectiveness of the Industry-University cooperation.
