The study took county in Chang-Zhu-Tan region as study area, employed various method:GIS spatial analysis, mathematical model analysis and genetic algorithm to probe spatial-temporal pattern, performance evaluation of county-level of urban-rural intergrated development, land use characteristic and pattern, optimal allocation of land use and regulation pathway,so as to realize land intensive utilization and achieve maximum integrated benefits, therefore, give reference to the decision for the land use planning and management. The main results were that:(1)The high value of non-agricultural coordinating degree of population, land and industry in 2001,2006 and 2013 were in Changsha district, Zhuzhou district and Xiangtan district, and the low value were in county. The degree and scope of non-agricultural coordinating between population and land were all less than population- land non-agricultural and land-industry.(2)Performance evaluation of urban-rural intergrated development in space showed a trend of self enhancement in Chang-Zhu-Tan region, and regional linkage became more closely. Performance evaluation could be classifed into three types: high-homogenized development areas, collapsed development area, low-homogenized deve lop me nt area s.(3)Diversification of Chang-Zhu-Tan region lie in up mediate level. The gradient distribution characteristics of high value, mean value and low value are presented from north to south. Spatial distribution of centralization index didn't present a certain rule.(4)From the perspective of economic, social and ecological benefits maximize and urban-rural intergrated development, took Zhuzhou county, Ningxiang county and Xiangxiang city as example, optimization of land use structure and the optimization of grey correlation analysis were conducted. The regulation pathway of land use optimal allocation in different types of urban and rural development, the regulation pathway of intergrating population, land and industry, construction of new urban and rural land use pattern were raised.
