Study On The Competitive Strategy Of Nine Dragons Paper(holdings) Limited

As the papermaking industry is an important part of the national economic development, our country has become the world's second largest paper consumer. With increasing competition in the papermaking industry, how to deal with competitions and continuous development in the competition is a very meaningful research proposition for the domestic papermaking enterprises. The Thesis has the significance of two aspects of both theories and applications for the competitive strategies of Nine Dragons Paper(Holdings) Limited.In the specific research, this thesis adopts the research method of combining theory analysis and case analysis. First of all, it analyzes the current situation of the development of Nine Dragons Paper, points out the existing problems of Nine Dragons Paper Group in the process of development, and makes clear the necessity of the competitive strategies for Nine Dragons Paper. Secondly, the Thesis makes the detailed analysis on the Nine Dragons Paper 's external environment from macro aspect by PEST model, also analyzes the industrial structure of the papermaking industry by five competitive models. Thirdly, the Thesis describes and summarizes the internal resources and ability of Nine Dragons Paper. On the basis of the previous analysis, it sums up the internal strengths and weaknesses and the external opportunities and threats of Nine Dragons Paper, and then a SWOT analysis is conducted for Nine Dragons Paper's internal and external environment. Based on a comparison with kinds of strategies, a proposal for Nine Dragons Paper is to implement the development strategy of WO, which also will be combined with SO, ST development strategy to give a full play to the strengths, and to avoid the threats. On this basis, through the analysis of the vision, mission and the overall strategic target, the thesis makes clear that Nine Dragons Paper Group should implement the combination of low cost and differentiation competitive strategy. Finally, the Thesis presents the specific strategies implementation program, such as, to improve the quality of the production and management, to increase the level of financial management, and to enhance the capability of independent innovation.
