American Literature News Narrative Research

Literary journalism,also called narrative news,non-fiction writing,originated in the early 20th century in the United States.In the 1960s ushered in the boom at the magazines such as esquire?rolling stones?New Yorker and Harper's.At present,in the era of information overload of the Internet,famous for its deep reporting.literary journalism show its extraordinary charm and vitality again.Based on this,the study of literature journalism has important research significance both in theory and practice.This paper takes the American literature news as the research object,takes the excellent literature news published by the American version of "esquire" as the research sample,and uses narrative and news narratology as the theoretical perspective,and uses literature analysis and text analysis as research methods,to explore the characteristics of literary journalism in the narrative.Through the analysis of the four aspects of narrative perspective,narrative time,narrative structure and narrative technique,the following conclusions are drawn:Firstly,in terms of narrative perspective,literary journalism is given priority to with mixed use of a variety of narrative perspective,the commonly used multiple points of view including four combination types,respectively is:editorial omniscient narrative perspective,the first-person witness and the parties to a third person perspective used interchangeably,condemn the narrative perspective,the parties to a first-person narrative perspective.Secondly,in terms of narrative time,literary journalism using the timing,duration and frequency,effective control reported prose rhythm,by clever flexibility to transform a variety of narrative sequence,the length and frequency have reported detailed slightly proper,relaxation.Thirdly,in terms of narrative structure,according to reports in the combination of each sequence,literary news mainly can be divided into three types of narrative structure:time connection type,cause and effect relationship,cross parallel type.These three structure types have their advantages,on the flow structure is suitable for different subjects of news reporting.Finally,in terms of narrative techniques,the characteristics of the literary journalism mainly has two aspects:one is the narrative story,this news with the United States has a great story of the long tradition of origin;Secondly,draw lessons from the narrative skill of literature to increase the readability and appeal.
