Preliminary Study On The Exhibition Design Of Museum Ceramics Exhibition

China has a long history of producing,using and preserving ceramics,under such circumstances,ceramics were closely related to the life of ancient people,hence making ceramics the significant objects in studying ancient society.Even nowadays,ceramics still remain an important role in our life.Ceramics displays and exhibitions are one of the common museum exhibitions.By holding ceramic exhibition,museums and archaeological research organizations could tell the history of ceramic development and also human society.During past several years,we have gained rich experience in the practice of planning ceramics exhibition.However,relevant theoretic works still have little fruits due to various reasons.This thesis will discuss the design of ceramic exhibitions through three aspects: display contents,designs and social education activities.This thesis mainly applies enumeration analysis method to do case study on particular ceramic exhibition,aiming to demonstrate relevant theoretic standards as well as the things that should be paid attention to in displaying ceramics.The study of content researches focuses on determining the theme of the exhibition and writing the outline.According to the different major cores of the exhibition more standardized and perfect,which will make a contribution for museums to spread the knowledge and culture of ceramics.The museum in detail about teach ceramic knowledge and spread ceramic culture.The design of exhibition outline includes exhibition name,the preface,the unit title,the epilogue and the explanation card.The outline of the exhibition is the prerequisite and basis for the implement of an exhibition,and also the core of this thesis.The peak of the final display of the exhibitions depends on the overall level of content researches,form designs and social education activities;otherwise,the lowest point depends on the height which the exhibition outline can be reached.The form designs are the external performance of the exhibition,including space design,lighting selection,color design,culture relics showcase and ancillary exhibition objects.This thesis focuses on the lighting of exhibition,because lights affect the clarity and authenticity of objects that are on display are on display.Porcelains are different from jades,bronze,paintings,silks etc..They require high standards of the color and temperature of the light.While the display has little limitation and the process is full of fun.Education is the one of the main functions of museums,this thesis introduces social education activities in the ceramic exhibition from tour aspects: guidance,interactive experience,expansion activities and ceramic exhibits information.Through some case study,this thesis analyzes the types of museum social education activities and issues that should be noted when organizing exhibition,in order to provide a general conclusion for future exhibition education activities and also to achieve the social education functions that museums should bear.
