With the development of modern communication technology,the relationship between microwave communication systems is becoming more and more close,and the system integration is getting higher and higher.Meanwhile,the bandgap between each system is becoming much more narrow.High performance,low loss and miniaturization are new trials for microwave filter design.Metamaterials is one kind of artificial structures,with unique electromagnetic character,which does not exist in nature.It mainly includes Left-Handed materials(LHM,?<0,?<0),?-negative materials(ENG,?<0,?>0),?-negative materials(MNG,?>0,?<0),Composite Right/Left-Handed materials transmission lines(CRLH TLs),photonic crystals and so on.The research of LHMs and CRLH TLs is becoming a hotpot in microwave field.In this paper,the research based on Metamaterials includes the following aspects:1.A novel wideband and low-loss Left-handed Material is presented with multi-opening cross shape structure in this paper.The absolute bandwidth of Left-handed character is up to 8.4 GHz,which is basically in Ku band and the loss of unit cell is less than 0.3dB.2.A simple Dual Composite Right/Left Handed structure is proposed.Based on the structure,a miniaturization band-stop filter is designed,which works in C band,with high band-stop rejection.3.A UWB(Ultra-Wideband)filter is also simulated,which is in C band,with wide band,based on Composite Right/Left Handed structure.Based on the research of Left-handed materials and CRLH TLs,this paper proposes some new structures,with miniaturization and high performance.This is useful for the design of microwave filter based on Metamaterials.
