Research On The Construction And Sharing Technology Of Dongba Classic Ancient Books Digital Resource Library

At present,most original classic manuscripts of Naxi Dongba literatures have been collected by well-known institutions form more than ten countries.As academic researchers were decentralized,it was very inconvenient for them to communicate with each other.In allusion to digitalization and sharing of Naxi Dongba manuscripts,a metadata specification was presented in this paper for Naxi Dongba manuscripts,moreover,XML database was employed to manage digitalized contents,and ultimately,a network access protocol was designed in this paper for Naxi Dongba manuscripts sharing platform.In order to achieve this goal,this research focuses on the three core issues that need to be solved in the process of building and sharing the digital library of Naxi Dongba manuscripts,respectively,1)digital description and information extraction of Naxi Dongba manuscripts;2)scientific storage and management of data related to Naxi Dongba manuscripts;and 3)the realization of interoperability of Naxi Dongba manuscripts' digital library.This research explores these three core issues above,specifically as follows:(1)Through investigating and studying existing description ways of semi-structured data,metadata is utilized to describe Naxi Dongba manuscripts.While referring to such metadata specification as the Special Metadata Design Guide,the Ancient metadata specifications and DC,an analysis of the content characteristics of Naxi Dongba manuscripts like the Annotated General Catalog of Ancient Books of Ethnic Minorities in China(Naxi Volume)and The Naxi Dongba Manuscript Translates Pouring Complete Works(Total 100 Volumes)are made and Naxi Dongba metadata specifications are designed.(2)The XML database-based construction scheme of Naxi Dongba manuscripts is put forward.This construction scheme can not only save the hierarchical structure of Naxi Dongba manuscripts on the basis of storing their contents,but also help solve problems like repeated detection of Naxi Dongba manuscripts and support of multimedia data in the storage process of such Naxi Dongba manuscripts.(3)OAI-PMH-based Naxi Dongba Internet Access Protocol is designed.On the one hand,this Protocol implements the six command verbs of OAI-PMH;on the other hand,it extends command verbs of ExpertQuery according to the technical characteristics of XML database,thus realizing the access to the digital library of Naxi Dongba manuscripts.Experiment results show that Naxi Dongba metadata specifications can both meet the needs of describing the contents of paper books and well support the storage of the Annotated General Catalog of Ancient Books of Ethnic Minorities in China(Naxi Volume),The Naxi Dongba Manuscript Translates Pouring Complete Works(Total 100 Volumes)and catalog files;meanwhile,the use of XML-based database outweighs that of relational database in building the cataloging management system of Naxi Dongba manuscripts in terms of the file storage and query;OAI-PMH-based Naxi Dongba Internet Access Protocol designed in this research can satisfy the sharing needs of the digital library of Naxi Dongba manuscripts.
