Sina Weibo Voted To Use Research

As a style of interaction and a model of selection emerged in the Internet era,network voting has been expected,for it may politically become one expression of the growing democracy.It is also used as a method of communication,both in the economic and cultural life,for connecting the users and suppliers of the products and services.With the development and usage of new technologies,a growing number of platforms make people can create polls or cast ballots online now.Sina Weibo is one of the most influential social apps in China,and is rich in various vote functionalities.Many polls are created on Sina Weibo every day.These polls are the record of opinions that are not only sought by the posters,but also expressed by the voters.In some cases,these polls can be viewed as part of the agenda framing process.The voting function is the central of this research,and is also analyzed from the view of both developers and users.The content that the writer used includes available Sina blogs,weibos and other instructional web pages.Content analysis is mainly used in this research,while system analysis,comparative analysis and case study are the ancillary research methods,too.It is shown that how the voting function has been adjusted on Sina Weibo and how it is being used now.According to this research,the meaning of opinion expression,which is embodied in the voting function,has been weakened by the operators,since Sina Weibo is becoming much more commercial and pan-entertainment.Voting is not a frequently used function at present.The majority of users tend to create polls on PC rather than on cellphone.The accounts which are much more likely to create polls on Sina Weibo are owned by the official websites,normal users and government.If opinions on entertainment affairs,for example,celebrities,are asked,more votes could be seen in this poll.But people also showed great concern to the polls which are about important livelihood issues.The total number of votes would be larger when one poll gets more comments,reposts or likes.The problems which have been found were owing to blunder made by the regulators,operators and users.Moreover,there is room for improvement in the voting function on Weibo.To the problems which have been found,the following solutions are suggested: generally,as the governor,the country should strengthen legislation,and as the online voting platform Weibo should strengthen self-discipline,too;specifically,the programmers should improve algorithm and add some new rules according to the basic voting theory.
