Due to its image information complement in different wave bands,lower information redundancy,target enhancement and details detection capability,the Multi-band image fusion technology has received extensive concern.System detection is also an important step to promote the multi-band image fusion technology.However,the comprehensive detection of whole system is not widespread.The passage pointed out that the detection of image fusion is focused on the evaluation of image quality at present.Aimed at this,a method based on the evaluation index,such as parallelism of optical axis,parallax,registration accuracy,resolution and modulation transfer function is proposed.Also,a system is designed to evaluate the performance of multi-band fusion system.The optical parallelism of the fusion system is measured by the large aperture collimator method.And the experimental results shows that the relationship between the optical parallelism and the performance of fusion system.By carrying out difference of modulation transfer function between monocular imaging system and binocular fusion system by comparison,an indirect method for modulating transfer function is proposed and implemented with the system,in order to the modulation transfer function of the fusion system can't be measured or calculated directly.The experiments shows that the parallelism of optical axis and modulation transfer function can be used to evaluate the quality of fusion system.
