With the rapid development of modern electronic technology,the demand for higher output power of radar and communication systems is increasing.In the 8mm or even higher frequency band,the output power of a single solid-state device is limited which can't fulfill the demand.Therefore,power combination technique is commonly used which can obtain higher output power.In this paper,a four-channel power combing amplifier based on the radial waveguide is developed.At the same time,the filter as the frequency selective device is one of the important components in the communication system,and its performance affects the quality of the system directly.In this paper,a waveguide filter which is suitable for 8mm band is designed according to the project requirement.The main contents of this paper are as follows:The first part of this paper is about 8mm band power combining amplifier,including the power synthesizer passive network and the active circuit.The efficiency of the power combiner reduced when amplitude and phase are inconsistent.In order to overcome the barrier,the radial waveguide is used as the core element of the power synthesis network.The passive network consists of symmetrical rectangular waveguide-coaxial waveguide-waveguide-rectangular waveguide power divider or synthesizer and back-to-back waveguide-microstrip probe transitions.In order to expand the power divider or synthesizer's bandwidth,tapered structure is used at the bottom of coaxial probe to achieve a smooth transition from coaxial waveguide to radial waveguide.The experimental results are in good agreement with the theoretical design.The active circuit of the power combiner is implemented in four back-to-back waveguides-microstrip converters with 4 AMMC5040 power amplifiers.The final test results show that in the 32?3 8GHz,the combining efficiency is better than 70%.The second part of the paper is about the design of 8mm waveguide waveguide filter.The filter adopts the double-sided inductance diaphragm structure,and the size of the filter is calculated quickly and accurately by combining the theory of fields and the circuits.To compensate for the machining error,tuning screws are added.Finally,the design of the filter for the physical processing and debugging,and the test results were analyzed.
