It is very difficult for operators to response correctly and fleetly in complex man-machine interface interaction system apart from the factors of individual physiological function.User's visual perception capacity must reach the upper limit if he receives information unceasingly.At this time,user's operation performance may be lowered as a result of the information overload problem getting worse.In order to ameliorate these problems and improve the user experience,this project explores the relationship between icon elements and user's visual perception capacity and attentional capture by studying user's task performance on icon's shape,size,layout and color based on visual attention mechanism theory,topological theory,color distance research achievements and eye-tracking experiment in visual perception research field.Results indicate that the quantity level of stimulus item influences user's visual perception capacity definitely.And icon's size has the most significant effect on user's attentional capture performance and visual perception capacity among the elements,color takes the second place and shape did little affect.Meanwhile,in the case of icon's topological property no-hole,size of 10mm-14mm and large color distance,user has better performance on attentional capture and visual perception capacity.And then take a smart home control terminal interaction product from the market as an example to launch the design evaluation and improvement rely upon the icon elements experiment conclusion and eye-tracking experiment result.In the end,utilize interviewing method which actuated by concrete tasks to demonstrate the design improvement.The result verifies the effectiveness of the project experiment conclusion.Icon element is a major consideration on man-machine interaction interface.The achievement of this paper could provide some references for interaction design of such products,so as to improve user's attentional capture performance and visual perception capacity,and then optimize user experience of the product.
