Solar road lamp with no wire, quick installation, convenience expansion, the use of cleanenergy and other advantages has attracted much attention, the market share has enhanced year byyear. Wireless sensor network (WSN) is considered to be one of the most important technologyof the21st century, has a large coverage area, remote monitoring and control, self-organizing,multi-hop routing, etc, is widely used in military, agriculture, environmental monitoring, smarthome, industrial control fields.This paper designed a solar road lamp control system based on wireless sensor networks,which overcomed the deficiencies of conventional solar road lamp can't being remotemonitoring and control, real-time monitored battery and lamp, work status of the PV modules,greatly improved the reliability of the road lamp control system, reduced maintenance costs andworkload, so the market prospect is broad.This paper has mainly carried out the research from following several aspects?1) Described the background and significance of this paper; analyzed research status anddevelopment trends of solar road lamp at home and broad; introduced solar road lamp controlsystem performance indicators and the relevant standards of this paper.2) The theories and control algorithms for the control system of solar road lamps, such asbattery charging and discharging rule, charging control strategy, MPPT, the principles of Buckand Boost chopper and so on are researched.3) Designed solar road lamp controller based on DSP28035. The buck circuit is used tocarry on the battery charging management; the boost circuit is used to control the LED lamp. Thecontroller primary circuit is simulated by TI's Power Stage Designer (Power level designer)software.4) ZigBee nodes and ZigBee/GPRS gateway hardware in wireless sensor network aredesigned.5) The control system of wireless intelligent road lamp is proposed. Software for nodes andcoordinators in WSN are designed and programmed, the remote monitoring system based onWeb is introduced. Finally, the system including all software and hardware has been tested.Thetest result shows that controllers run reliably, and the wireless network works stably. Thecorrectness and feasibility of the design are verified through experiment.
