A Brief Discussion On The Development Of Curriculum Standards For The British History

China has carried out a new round of primary and secondary education reform at the beginning of the century,of which the history course of middle school is one of the key points of the reform.So how to promote the development of Chinese history education in the new round of curriculum reform? It is necessary to learn from other countries' successful experience in curriculum reform.The British history curriculum reform is quite successful,so the successful experience of British curriculum reform has great reference significance for us.This paper makes a series of discussions on 5 history curriculum standards in Britain over the past 1991 years,1995 edition,1999 edition,2007 edition and 2013 edition.In 1991,Britain promulgated the first national curriculum standard in history of education.In 1995,second national curriculum standards were promulgated based on the revision of 1991.In 1999,Britain issued third national curriculum standards,which is the most complete curriculum standard in British history.In 2008,fourth national curriculum standards were promulgated,which is the revision and improvement of 1999 editions.In 2013,a new national curriculum standard was issued,which focused on it.So far,the development of the national curriculum standard of British history department is becoming mature.The content of this article is composed of two parts: preface and text.The preface mainly describes the purpose and significance of the study,research summary,research methods and innovations.The text includes four parts.The first part introduces the relevant concepts of the national curriculum standards of the British history department,the background of the introduction and the introduction of the curriculum standards of the five British history and history subjects.The second part focuses on the analysis of the most complete national curriculum standard(1999edition)of the British history section,which is analyzed from three aspects: the content system,the curriculum goal and the characteristics.The third part focuses on the analysis of the latest British history department national curriculum standard(2013 Edition),from the content system,curriculum objectives,subject content and characteristics.The fourth part mainly analyzes the characteristics,enlightenments and noticeable aspects of the development of national curriculum standards in theBritish history department.The results of this study show that the development of the curriculum standards in the British history department is spiralling.Before the reform,the English middle school history curriculum only emphasizes the learning and memory of historical knowledge;the development of the curriculum standards emphasizes the acquisition and cultivation of the ability,the learning of historical knowledge is not the focus,the ability goal is the main line of the curriculum standard,the content is for the ability goal,and the 2013 edition is the latest curriculum standard.It also puts forward the idea of laying equal stress on the learning and training of historical knowledge,which leads to the balance between the two.This article can also draw a conclusion that the curriculum reform of the British history department is carried out from top to bottom and from top to bottom.The development of the curriculum standard is not once and for all,but should be constantly revised and perfected.Of course,the historical view and values embodied and carried out in the national curriculum standards of the British history department are recognized and respected by the mainstream society in the UK.We need to analyze and treat it with the basic viewpoint of historical materialism.
