A Comparative Study Of Gender Bias In High School Chemistry Textbooks

Textbook is the main carrier of human knowledge and ideology for students to obtain knowledge and acquisition of social identity values,beliefs and attitudes.Through the study of feminist critical review of knowledge and education,we found chemical textbooks as knowledge education tools may have a gender bias,even scientific knowledge itself may have a gender bias.The study was designed to answer the question of whether there are gender bias and prejudice.Through the study on the education line and knowledge analysis line combined with two-wire gender bias critical dimension of content and classification table,using the content analysis method to make the gender prejudice comparative study of China,present three versions of the chemistry textbook.In each of the three categories of gender frequency,and calculate the percentage(including the percentage of different categories within groups and between same-sex sexual in the same category percent).Combined with the chi square test and descriptive statistics: gay groups within(three categories)of different gender differences and the percentage distribution of the same category within the group(amphoteric)percentage distribution the study of gender bias in senior high school chemistry textbooks and the revision of Chemistry Textbooks in senior high schools.
