Feminist identity, which originated in the feminist movement and social identity theory is a more active research theme in Western academia. But in China, feminist identity is still a relatively unfamiliar concept, related research is also in the blank stage. With the deep spread and development of feminism in our country, the feminist group including much young women are gradually growing, and the phenomenon of feminist stigma is becoming more and more serious. So the study of feminist identity is very necessary at this time.At the same time, colleges and universities as an important position to spread the advanced gender culture has a large young female group who are female college students. Therefore, it is necessary to explore the significance of feminist identity development to these female college students, and the influence of gender equity education in colleges and universities on the feminist identity development of female college students, so as to provide appropriate suggestions for the better dissemination of advanced gender culture to the colleges and universities at the educational level.This research takes feminist identity development theory as a starting point, and combines with social gender theory, social identity theory, and feminist pedagogy theory as well as body construction theory. Through the questionnaire survey method and other research methods it investigates the female college students who studied the gender equity education course --Gender and Society, and discusses the value implication of feminist identity development and the influence of gender equity education in colleges and universities on the feminist identity development. The problems and reasons are also analyzed, the results of the study are as follows:(1) The feminist identity development of female college students is good on the overall level,but not stable. Some of its stages differ significantly in the the demographic characteristics of grade.However, there are no significant differences in the stages of feminist identity development of female college students in other social demographic characteristics such as age, professional classification, household registration, whether the only child. (2) When the female college students have a higher level of feminist identity development, they will also have a higher level of achievement motivation on career, explicit self-esteem and academic possible selves; their gender concept will be more advanced and they will be more likely to have androgyny gender role identity.Therefore, feminist identity development has positive significance for female college students. (3) The gender equity education courses can have a significant positive effect on the feminist identity development of female college students. Moreover, the degree of effect of the gender equity education courses is different in some social demographic characteristics. (4) The gender equity education course can raise female college students' awareness and recognition of gender equity education and feminism(feminist). Therefore, gender equity education can be not only an effective means to promote the development of feminist identity of female college students, but also a good way to remove feminist stigma.Based on the above research, this paper discusses the problems in the process of feminist identity development of female college students in connection with the relevant theories, and analyzes the reasons from the three aspects of family, society and school education. Finally, the paper discusses the path to promote the development of female college students' feminist identity and spread the advanced gender culture from the three levels of education, and puts forward the core strategy is to develop the gender equity education of colleges and universities. It also provides some suggestions for the development of gender equity education in colleges and universities from two aspects .
