Function is the key and difficult points in teaching of junior-senior middle school, which is one of the most relevancy in entrance examination. The mathematical thought method of classification discussion, symbolic-graphic combination, contact and transformation lay a good foundation for further study of higher mathematics. However, based on the minor-cycle characteristics in current schools, the teaching disconnection phenomenon is very serious.especially the important function knowledge learning. The emphasis in the junior middle school and senior middle school teaching is difference.In this paper, making use of the document research, questionnaires interviews and case analysis method, For two diffrent versions of the teaching material of junior-senior middle school, the function concept of junior middle school and senior middle school, the quadratic function, function and equation and inequality relation was compared and researched. It points out that cohesion should be strengthened from the following several aspects: cohesion between the function development history in teaching of junior high school and funetion set theory cohesion between contact of completing the square, images and nature and high school quadratic function: cohesion between strengthening students' ability of distinguishing drawing, drawing and the relation in senior high function and inequality; cohesion between mathematical ideas of symbolic-graphic combination and integrated application on senior high school. The case of study of the relationship between function and equation, in senior high school, the key point of teaching cohesion is stated vividly. It points out that stucdy emphasis is to let student percept the function and equation. Using the funtion images and mathematical thought of symbolic-graphic combination, some equation question can be solved, which infiltrate function thought. In addition, it can be good bedded for study relation between function and equation in senior high school and other applications. The gradual process make the learning function and equation not so abrupt in senior high school which is easy to be accepted by students.For two different versions of the teaching material of junior-senior middle school in author city, it is analyzed from content and requirements, compiling feaures and present process, the relation and distinction of function in junior-senior high school and introduce six teaching strategies in teaching of junior-senior middle school.
