Mind Mapping is a visual tool, the core idea of which combines the concrete thinking and abstract thinking. Since Mind Mapping approach and Knowledge Visualization Theory were introduced into the field of education, it has brought a positive effect upon education. This thesis attempts to apply Mind Mapping to helping the students memorize English vocabulary.There are three research questions in this thesis:1. How do teachers use Mind Mapping in English vocabulary teaching in Grade 3 and 4 in primary school?2. What are the effects of using Mind Mapping in English vocabulary teaching in Grade 3 and 4 in primary school?3. What are the students' evaluation on English vocabulary teaching based on Mind Mapping?This research fulfills the following tasks: Firstly, the author explores the method of using Mind Mapping in English vocabulary teaching in Grade 3 and 4 in primary school. The author gives examples of relevant teaching cases to help using Mind Mapping in English vocabulary teaching in primary school. Secondly, the experimental results have showed the effects of improving the abilities of memorizing English vocabulary in primary schools. And the results show: Mind Mapping can help primary school students learning vocabulary. Thirdly, the author has known the students' attitudes towards using Mind Mapping in English vocabulary teaching.Students think that Mind Mapping can activate their interest in learning vocabulary and develop their cooperative abilities. Through the cooperation , they can make great progress together.
