| Along with the enhancement of society, the strength of science and technology is growing. Scientific ideas and spirit are gradually popular in the masses. However,pseudoscience has never been interrupted. It’s widespread and has caused great harm to the people and society. The "ordinary high school biology curriculum standard(experiment)" (2003) published in China is put forward to improve the students’scientific literacy. This requires students to discern pseudoscience. The "high school biology curriculum standards (revised)"(2017) has clearly pointed out that one of the core qualities of biological discipline is social responsibility, which requires studentsto be able to distinguish pseudoscience. In the "compulsory education biology course standard "(2011),"Healthy life" has been separated into a topic. And improving the students’ ability to discern pseudoscience is one way to make students have more healthy life.In order to improve the ability of discernment of the junior middle school students to the pseudoscience on the net, this article attempts to relay on related literature, insights into the study of pseudoscience, and grasps the related knowledge of pseudoscience. Also, this article takes the first grade students in experimental school affiliated to nanjing normal university as the research object, and sets the activity curriculum called "discerning pseudoscience on the net intelligently". The activity curriculumn introduces the connotation and characteristics of pseudoscience and its related concepts in theory. The teacher teaches students the methods to discern pseudoscience in the process of analysis on the examples of pseudoscience or unscientific instances. And finally, let the students practice analyzing the instances of pseudoscience. Through these three parts, let the students use some methods to identify the pseudoscience on the net on the basis of understanding the connotation,characteristics of pseudoscience. This article shows the five teaching designs and makes the teaching reflection and case analysis. Through designing the test papers of"discerning pseudoscience" before and after the activity curriculum to test the improvement of students’ ability of discerning pseudoscience between the experimental group and control group. The results showed that students’ test scores of the experimental group and control group has no significant difference before the activity. After the activity, students’ scores in the experimental group are significantly higher than their own scores in the pretest, and are also significantly higher than the control group. While there are no significant differences in the control group grades before and after the activity. This shows that carrying out the activity of it is helpful to improve the students’ ability to discern pseudoscience. According to the interviews with students after class and the students’ evaluation of this activity,it shows that the students think they can learn some knowledge and scientific methods which can not be found in the biology textbook, and they are more interested in biology. In addition,carrying out the "discerning pseudoscience on the net intelligently" activity can be used as the theme of healthy life to provide a way and reference for developing school-based curriculum of middle school. |
