As an immortal literary work,“Strange Tales from Liaozhai”profoundly reflected the social reality and human affairs.Based on the social background of the late Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty,the author,Songling Pu,complied with the requirements of the times of traditional moral revival,sketched out a complete educational world.In the novel,the conjunction of poetic justice education and literary entertainment,fully reflected Songling Pu’s educational thought.More importantly,his education thought was largely out of the old ideas and old prison system,showing the epoch-making sense of innovation and unique brilliance,and it has some enlightening significance to the development of modern education.In any case,the educational implication of “Strange Tales from Liaozhai”and Songling Pu’s educational thought should not be ignored.Based on the adjustment of the research perspective and the innovation of research methods,the paper makes a comprehensive study on the educational world of “Strange Tales from Liaozhai”and a systematic analysis and generalization of Songling Pu’s educational thought.First of all,the paper introduces the social situation and the author’s life experience.From the social situation,the dynastic change of Ming and Qing dynasties and the thought of humanism in Qing Dynasty were age factors affecting the formation of “Strange Tales from Liaozhai”;from Songling Pu’s life experience,the suffering of life,the failure of the imperial examination and the creation of love nature,constituted personal factors,which prompting the advent of “Strange Tales from Liaozhai”.Secondly,according to the educational object,Songling Pu outlined a complete educational world,including male education,female education and youth education.Songling Pu launched a strong criticism on the phenomenon of "the loss of heroes" in the world of male education under the imperial examination system,and analyzed the causes of alienation and the tragic fate of intellectuals.He made a strong counter attack on female education tradition of “a woman without talent is virtuous”,and subverted the traditional concept of marriage of the “male and female ritual”.He exposed and rebuilt the youth education in ancient society,also he objected to the traditional idea of "love without teaching" and advocated the conception of “honor the teacher and respect his teaching”.Finally,based on the investigation of “Strange Tales from Liaozhai”,the paper analyzes it’s educational thought.For the purposes of education,Songling Pu emphasized two aspects of ability and virtue;for the content of Education,he advocated that moral and intellectual cultivate simultaneously;for the formation of education,he advocated family school with feature of lively and democracy;for the pattern of Education,he promoted a "poetic justice" oriented education.In the creation of the classical Chinese novels of “Strange Tales from Liaozhai”,SonglingPu shouldered the historical mission of inheriting and creating the spirit of “the writings are for c onveying truth”,which embodied his wisdom as an educator.Although there is no direct discussi on of educational ideas in the “Strange Tales from Liaozhai”,many articles contain educational t hought of persuasion and punishment.We can get lots of inspiration and learn more from educational thought of Songling Pu.
