A Comparative Study Of The Development Of China's Horse Racing Industry And Modern Horse Racing In Dubai

Originated in the 18th century in western countries, modern horse racing has developed for 200 years in history, and the fascinating sport has also been widely carried out all over the world. Based on the vary histories and conditions, different countries have different ways to develop the modern horse racing. As traditional horse industry provided the main source of power for the development of human society before the invention and popularity of the steam engine, modern horse racing has also made vital contributions to the society with its unique prosperities. Studies on the histories of the main horse racing countries can help us to learn from their experience, and to understand the general law of modern horse racing, which will be an important reference for the development of China's modern horse racing industry. Middle East Arab countries have a long history of horse racing, and the most influential one is Dubai, Unites Arab Emirates. This thesis mainly uses the method of multiple means including the method of documentary, the statistical method and the comparative analysis approach to study Dubai modern horse racing so as to explore the way to develop China's modern horse racing industry.From the perspective of sociology, this article analyzes the present situation of Dubai modern horse racing, and makes us understand the development model and management experience. It can be a reference for the development of China's modern horse racing industry. In addition, this article studies and evaluates the social impact of horse racing. Comparing with Dubai, the developed horse racing country, it analyzes the possible impact of China based on its own society, especially the impact about horse race betting. Although modern horse racing in Dubai deeply influenced by the United Kingdom as the representative of western countries, it has its own characteristics because of social institutions and religious factors-advocated by the royal family to organize a non-betting horse racing. Because of involving gambling, China's horse racing had been banned by the government. At the moment, the horse racing in China only recognized by the IOC (International Olympic Committee) equestrian events, not including horse race betting. Dubai racing mode is difficult to be copied, but it also gives us inspiration-betting makes horse racing full of vigor and vitality, it can also be a purely competitive sport without betting. Nevertheless, only by developing objective and comprehensive understanding of pros and cons of horse race betting, establishing a government-led, independent oversight horse racing system, and working out some scientific, reasonable and long-term interests modern horse racing regulations as well as consistent with China's national conditions can we hope to avoid the risk and maximize the positive side of modern horse racing.From the perspective of culture, this article finds out the prosperity of horse racing in Dubai largely due to its successful practice of economic restructuring and diversification as well as the healthy horse racing culture Dubai leader advocates to. The corn of horse racing culture is consuming passion on horse racing, and on this basis, it reflects the self-discipline, sense and spirit of utter devotion. China has not yet formed a horse racing culture as it started late. Therefore, it's necessary for the government to promote a healthy horse racing culture so as to guide the whole horse racing society.
